Fishing in Cancun, Mexico

Here's a pic of a Sailfish that I caught in Cancun last weekend while at my good friend's Bachelor party. I'll upload more pics from the weekend later, but wanted to get this up:

UPDATE: Check out the video of Brian landing a nice sailfish below the pic

Here's a video of Brian (The Bachelor) landing a sailfish. It's kind of slow at first, but it jumps quite a bit as the get it close to the boat:

Holidays in Monterey, CA

It's a bit delayed, but here are some pictures from the amazing trip that Jess and I took to Monterey just after Christmas last year. I've always wanted to take the scenic drive up the coast and all I can say is that it surpassed all of my expectations. The drive was the coolest, most beautiful drive I've ever taken.

We stopped in Santa Barbara for a night to see some friends and then just took our time heading up the coast. We stopped at Beulton, CA and went to Anderson's for some lunch (I'm sure I don't need to mention that Beulton is home of split pea soup). After hitting Pismo Beach, we made our way to Monterey.

What a cool town. The aquarium was the best I've ever seen. The wine tasting was fantastic. And, the 17 Mile drive in and around Pebble Beach and Spyglass was stunning (we saw a cute deer chilling by road there).

Anywho.... here are the pics. I've got some video files that I'll be posting someday as well, but I've no clue when I'll get them edited and uploaded.

Canoe trip down memory lane (Hillsborough river actually)

Last week, I was fortunate enough to have a business trip that allowed me to spend the weekend at my Dad's place in Florida (Thonotosassa, to be exact). Needless to say, it was a great weekend and really nice to see him, Dorothy, and Mike. Having a few hours to get to know my niece and nephew was fantastic as well! Mike's kids are just awesome and I hope to get to spend more time with them.

Anywho, the best part of the weekend was having the opportunity to take a canoe trip down the Hillsborough river that runs behind my Dad's house. It was just too cool to see the places where I used to fish and swim when I was growing up. Tons of memories. I put together a slideshow of some pics that I took during the trip. The background music just seemed to fit perfectly. The tune is from one of my favorite guitar players that lives near me named Greg V. Feel free to support him if you like it (not affiliated, just love his work) at www.gregv.us/

Hey yooze guys...

We just took what Jessica calls the "East Coast Extravaganza" 4 states in 4 days vacation. Check out the slide show below from: Washington DC tourist spots, Jessica's New Jersey relatives (yooze guys), and visiting with Mom in Deleware's only (and not so good) vineyard.

Killer Fishing Trip

Last Sunday, Ed's father-in-law was kind enough to take a few of us out Tuna fishing on his killer boat. We went about 30 miles offshore of Oceanside and caught 11 Albacore Tuna. Check out the Slideshow below!

Maybe we should stick with the Tropics....

So, my company just sponsored a ski trip to Mammoth Mountain this weekend. The weather was amazing. The snow was nice. I had a blast. Jess, on the other hand (or should I say broken wrist)..............

The North Shore.....

So, we spent the day checking out the North Shore. The drive there on the H-3 Interstate was just awesome. I took a few pics from the car to try to capture it, but they don't do it justice. We got a few good shots of Chinaman's Hat and the 83 highway that winds around the North Shore hugging the ocean. The rock sculptures were really cool, so I had to stop and take some pictures. Then Jess and I made our own :)

If you ever get a chance to stop at one of the shrimp vendors out here, do yourself the favor!!! Some Ono Grind!!!

Lastly, we found the coolest little protected reef area that you could wade/swim in. It made for some great pics until I tried to swim through a swift current (you know, to get to the other side) and slammed my hand into some friendly sea urchins. That kind of sucked. Actually, digging them out of my slightly bloody fingers sucked more :)

Here's the pics:

It's a small world...

Our friend's Edward and Mike that happened to show up in Oahu for the U2 concert this weekend. We hung out in their killer suite at the Hilton Hawaiian Village and had some drinks before going out to diner at Kobe, a Bennihana ripoff.

The wedding spot revisted

One year later, we head back to the secret cove at Ko'Olina where our wedding took place. Much to our surprise, upon arrival we noticed that a camera crew was already re-enacting our wedding ceremony. I think they cast the role of groom perfectly, click play on the video below and let us know what you think.

After checking out the video, take a look at the photos from our day of snorkeling and soaking up the sun at Ko'Olina.

Polynesian Cultural Center

So far, one of the coolest things we have done was visit the Polynesian Cultural Center on the North Shore. Spent the afternoon walking around checking out the different "villages" representing different islands. Click on the picture below to see pictures from the villages as well as the evening's show (which far surpassed our expectations) -- check out the video of the "fire sitters" below.

1st Anniversary trip to Oahu!

I know that I just posted pics of our wedding, but time flies when you're having fun! It's been a year (well, tomorrow) and Jess and I are back in Oahu where it all began.

I plan to post pics fairly often, only because, I know (like our wedding pics) I'll not take time once we're back to organize and post them.

Today, we took the scenic route around the east coast of Oahu. Our first stop was Hanauma Bay where we did some snorkeling. It's a protected marine preserve that was absolutely stunning. Snorkeling was great. The water was a bit cloudy, but there was a good variety of marine life. We just got an underwater housing for our digital camera, so this was the perfect opportunity to try it out. Given the conditions, I think it worked out quite well!! Click the pic below to see all the pictures. Check out the video from the camera below as well!

Well, even though we're heading back to Hawaii for our anniversary in a few weeks, I thought I'd post a link to the pictures of our wedding last year. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect day! We'll be posting pics from our anniversary soon.
